What is Botox?

Botox is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment, with more than 6 million treatments conducted each year. Botox is a neurotoxin derived from Clostridium botulinum, an organism from the natural environment where it is largely inactive and non-toxic. Botox is used to smooth fine lines and wrinkles by paralyzing the underlying muscles.


What are the Benefits of Tox?

Botox is an effective treatment for glabellar frown lines, wrinkles around the lips (smoker’s lines) and marionette lines, platysmal bands in the neck, strabismus, blepharospasm, cervical dystonia, hyperhidrosis as well as synkinesis following facial surgery.

How many units of neurotoxin do I need?

The average estimates: Crows Feet: 24 - 30 Units, Frown: 15 - 25 Units, Forehead: 10 - 20 Units.

For male patients, Botox dosage is effective when started from 40 Units. Men require higher doses of Botox as they have a greater muscle mass than women.


How long does it last?

The effect of botox injections lasts 4-6 months. After 4-5 sessions the effect lasts longer.
